Biography

Nancy Vuylsteke de Laps brings her youth and her poetic sense into her work. She calmly expresses herself through her motto “heart is the measure of all things”. She puts life in her art, and art in lives with a secret but powerful enthusiasm.

Perfectly balanced, her style sways from cries to poetry, which is what everyone’s mind is creating without readymade ideas: warmth, emotions, natural light, even a memory… a breath of fresh air in the suffocating everydayness.

All is movement. All things come to an end we do not know, time passes by and the artwork tends to stop us, begging to be admired. The sculpture seems speechless, incarnating the art of stillness and silence.

Her sculptures are beauties, who whisper to us, surreptitiously using their shadows. The main exhibition room is a ghostly hall where the murmurs and whispers can be heard.

Her creation is an authentic quest without deceit, she walks through the paths of her soul to find the forms she is compelled to sculpt.
